THE DETAILS
Featured on Style Me Pretty this romantic wedding held at the famed Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was a floral dream come true for us! Opulent and inspired by the show Bridgerton, with a modern twist, Alexa Kay brought this couple's dream to life despite the gray and rainy ambiance of the day.
The overall mood of the floral was lavish; so we selected premium pastel blooms such as peonies in light pink and white (the bride's favorite flower, in season for a late May wedding), sweet peas, roses, ranunculus, clematis, lisianthus and delphinium.
Some of the floral highlights included a lush bridal bouquet featuring honeysuckle vine greenery and luxurious florals that were finished with trialing, light blue-grey, hand-dyed silk ribbon. On a smaller scale, the bridesmaid’s bouquets showcased the same blooms as those used in the bride's bouquet and looked striking set against their black gowns.
For the outdoor ceremony, we crafted 30 continuous feet of aisle meadow, 15 feet on each side of the aisle leading up to the ceremony site. Each 3-foot piece featured lush fern greenery as well as, roses, tulips, lisianthus, and clematis in tandem line flowers including snapdragon, larkspur, and delphinium for the height, to create a curated garden feel.
At the main focal point, an enchanting ceremony arch was designed on-site using a muted gold arch structure, lots and lots of baby's breath, and over 125 soft-colored, large bloom roses, including pale yellow Candlelight roses, blush Quicksand roses, light mauve Faith roses, and white Playa Blanca garden roses.
When the ceremony and an indoor cocktail hour ended, the couple and their guests gathered in the Grand Ballroom for the reception. There we had repurposed the aisle meadow pieces as guests were enjoying cocktails in another location, to surround the sweetheart table and to adorn the front of the live band’s stage. In addition, each guest table featured a romantic, low-profile centerpiece similar in style to the bride's bouquet, tall taper candles, and votives by Chandlerie in ‘Spanish Moss’.
It was truly an honor to be chosen as the florist for this event, so if wedding flowers similar to this grand soiree sound like something that would complete your wedding floral dreams, do not hesitate to reach out to us today to schedule your free consultation and reserve your wedding date.
